ITT CLEVIS MOUNT TIE ROD CYLINDERS

All ITT clevis mount cylinders need a provision on both ends for pivoting. These types of tie rod cylinders are designed to carry shear load and the trunnion pivot pins should be carried by bearings that are rigidly held and closely fit for the entire length of the pin.

ITT ANGLE MOUNT TIE ROD CYLINDERS

ITT angle mounted cylinders provide a fairly rigid mounting style. These types of tie rod cylinders can tolerate a small amount of misalignment when the cylinder is at full stroke, but as the piston moves toward the blind end, the tolerance for misalignment diminishes.

It is important to note that if the ITT tie rod cylinder is used correctly, the mounting bolts are either in a shear or tension position without any compound stress.
